Every person makes their creation differently, and most amazingly every person looking at the creation also sees it differently.

Who knows what good art is?

No one liked Van Gogh’s work until he died. Now people pay millions of dollars for canvases he could not give away. But he did. He knew and loved what he was doing. No one understood the impressionists or the post impressionists or the beginnings of abstract art. So if your kid’s work is unique and no one understands it – don’t worry, and don’t give up. You may have the next Warhol or Lichtenstein in your family. Remember that one of the London Tate Gallery’s most viewed pieces is a pile of bricks. Sir Ken Robinson in his TED talk says that conventional education is killing the creativity of kids, so we need to encourage and stimulate all acts of creation and imagination in our children. And so often in kid’s art we can see the amazing creativity and talent that lies within our children. So whenever there is an opportunity to encourage your children to be creative, whether it’s art or in any field, let them go and explore. Without their imagination and creativity the world will be a much worse place in the next generation.
