Indonesia is home to a burgeoning middle class and foreign worker families with an eye for good education. Private initiatives taking Indonesian education to world-class standards are growing as a result. BINA NUSANTARA (building the archipelago) Foundation has been on a mission to foster and empower society in building and serving the nation since 1974. 

The organisation started its education journey as a family initiative pioneering the introduction of programming knowledge to Indonesia. Today, BINA NUSANTARA Foundation has campuses in Jakarta, Bandung and Malang as well as learning centres in other parts of the country. It runs programmes from primary to tertiary levels, online programmes, and consulting services delivered in both Indonesian and English. 

With an international outlook and dedication to the development of Indonesia, the foundation has established benchmarks and engaged in education practices responsive to Indonesia. The 3+1 undergraduate enrichment programme of BINUS UNIVERSITY engages students in a year of study abroad, internship, entrepreneurship, research or community development. Design thinking and critical thinking are the central educational objectives executed in collaboration with over 180 partner universities and 5,000 companies.

The foundation’s three BINUS SCHOOLs – Simprug, Serpong and Bekasi are driven by a similar vision of the country’s international competitiveness. BINUS SCHOOL Simprug runs the International Baccalaureate (IBcurriculum with the students graduating with grades above the world IB average, and many gaining admission to the world’s top universities, including Ivy League Universities.

BINUS SCHOOL Serpong runs the Cambridge curriculum and is a holistic learning environment emphasising on the student-teacher relationship to foster a personal and sincere learning environment to develop students with strong character. BINUS School Bekasi also utilises the Cambridge curriculum to instill international-standard academic rigour at a brand new facility in Bekasi, whilst leveraging on the strengths of the BINUS Group, delivering strong Binusian Core Values to its students.
