Papringan in Javanese means bamboo garden. It is an outdoor market in Temanggung, Central Java. The market is set up, rather unusually, in a bamboo forest in the village of Ngadiprono. Since its inception in 2016, the market has operated on a special schedule, opening every 35 days or selapan (market day) on the Javanese calendar.

Kaum Jakarta presents its own of Pasar Papringan Ngadiprono where guests will be able to experience the festive “eco-forward” market with bamboo stools, terracotta cookware and bamboo utensils.

For Jakartans who want to enjoy the atmosphere of the market and taste the traditional dishes on offer, can head to this restaurant until 12 June from 5 PM to 8 PM.

There is a selection of authentic dishes commonly found at the market, such as Lesah Ayam (yellow chicken soup), Gablok Pecel (traditional vegetables salad with peanut sauce and served with savoury white sticky rice cooked with coconut),  and much more.
