KEEPING THINGS GRAND: THE INTERCONTINENTAL BALI RESORT’S BALLROOM GETS A MAKEOVER
|

Resorts are more than just escapes for holidaying couples, families and friends; these almost palatial spaces can always be used for amazing events or functional business affairs. The InterContinental Bali Resort in Jimbaran knows this all too well and have just completed the renovations of their ballroom and meeting rooms.

The Puri Kencana Ballroom was already grand, with 525-square-metres of space, high ceiling and Balinese fittings. Now with its new refurbishment, the room is more lavish than ever with new, custom-made wall coverings, carpets that take Balinese inspired design, colour and patterns. Added to that are wood carvings crafted by local artisans to give the room more depth, shape and warmth. The InterContinental Bali Resort is known for its strong sense of place, with its manicured gardens and Balinese structures dominating its grounds. This same philosophy is brought into the ballroom, because when in you’re Bali it’s important to feel that even indoors.

The pillarless ballroom is decked with dramatic crystal chandeliers and a permanent stage, and the extending retractable walls means that those after intimate affairs can also take advantage of the room. So, whether a conference of 50 or a supreme celebration of 600-guests, the versatile Puri Kencana Room is certainly open for use. Better yet, Puri Kencana also extends out onto a picturesque outdoor garden space, known as the Candi Bentar Cultural Stage.

The Nakula and Sadewa Boardrooms have also been refurbished; with new cool colours, wall fabrics and a customised carpet their sophistication does not go unnoticed. These 50-square-metre meetings rooms can host 20 people for board meeting style gatherings. Finally, the Pandawa Room made for slightly larger meetings of up to 120 people has also touched up its ‘contemporary Balinese’ look. With its 215-square-metres it can be used in a classroom, theatre, U-Shape or banquet set up; it can even be divided further into 3 separate rooms for smaller groups.

All of these beautifully refined rooms spill out into an expansive new pre-function foyer, linking them all together between interior and exterior spaces.  This foyer is perfect for gatherings for cocktails and canapés. Each are also equipped with state-of-the-art presentation systems, A/V facilities, with the addition of coffee corners, sound absorbing acoustic panels and smart efficient lighting.

Puri Kencana Ballroom and the Nakula, Sadewa and Pandawa meetings rooms are ideal for hosting inspirational and creative meetings, weddings, gala events, conferences, team-building sessions and incentives. InterContinental Bali Resort’s specialised team of highly-trained, professional event planners is on hand to cater to every aspect of group functions and meeting requirements, with a comprehensive bespoke service.
