Sustainability is first and foremost about ensuring long-term returns and positive societal impact. In promoting those goals, Most Valued Business Indonesia (MVB) has launched its programs for 2018, with a special highlight on four critical values areas deemed of paramount importance.

Taking place at Sasono Mulyono Ballroom, Le Meridien, Jakarta, on November 10, Ambassador of Hungary, H.E. Judit Pach officially opened the launch of MVB Program 2018, followed by Eamonn Sadler, CEO MVB International, and Alistair Speirs OBE, Chairman MVB Indonesia, who gave a presentation about education and collaboration programs.

Since 2014, MVB has been helping companies to spread out the core values of increased sustainability – that sustainable businesses are good for the environment, and for this fact company should be concerned about sustainability strictly for ethical reasons. That’s why MVB encourages the surrounding community and companies to sit together, join, and adopt sustainable business practices based on these four main reasons:

Promotion – Not only does MVB offer online and offline publicity programs, MVB also promotes pro-active media relations. With its core belief on the increased responsibility and sustainability, MVB wants consumers to be widely aware of how dedicated their members to sustainability. “We don’t want you to make less money, we want you to make more money. Because everything about sustainability is actually not only about selling, advertising, and branding, but staying in business and maximizing your profit,” said Alistair Speirs OBE, Chairman of MVB.

Education – Through knowledge-sharing activities, MVB wants to enable every human being to acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to shape a long-term future. Speirs added, “We are here to educate and we want to promote to the people that we are doing the right thing! We want consumers to know we are dedicating ourselves to sustainability. And this is all about great things.”

Collaboration – By sharing business practices, MVB introduces value-added services where clients get to elaborate their points of views in a well-structured and dynamic format.

Building Trust – What MVB wants is a new age of enlightenment where the relationship between the people and the companies, surrounding communities and the employees, is based on trust. Through MVB’s principles and application of the input by their experts, companies will gain good reputations in the minds of their customers and stakeholders.

More and more companies are realising that being sustainable goes far beyond just an environmental gesture. MVB’s sustainable business plans will promote long-term benefits by connecting companies with people, communities with employees, and in due time, ensuring success for all.

Along with the launching of education and collaboration programs 2018, MVB also held a special award ceremony for its 32 members entitled “MVB Indonesia Appreciation Night”, giving appreciation to those who were deemed to be visionary leaders in the areas of sustainability development and ethics.

Ambassador of Denmark to Indonesia H.E. Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen welcomed VIP guests and awardees by giving a speech about his country as a global leader in sustainable economic growth.

Three special awards were handed out to companies with a strong commitment in security and safety procedures as well as environmental consciousness, namely PT Brother International Sales Indonesia as MVB Most Responsible Company, PT Doulton for having MVB Best Sustainability Program and PT Jakarta Setiabudi for MVB Most Ethical Business Practices.

“We are proud to be the initiator in what we believe to be something that is really valuable for many companies in Indonesia, a program that is designed for those who want to improve, and acknowledge those who have already embraced the whole concept. We congratulate all who have participated in this program and invite as many other businesses as possible to join us so that we could build a better future for Indonesia”, said Speirs.

MVB Indonesia Launching Program 2018 and Appreciation Night Awards were held by MVB Knowledge Partners from CECT Trisakti, BINUS University, Towards Sustainable Business, Outward Bound Indonesia. Sponsors included Le Meridien Jakarta, Heineken, Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia and Sababay Winery.
