In collaboration with Jakarta International Photo Festival 2019, ARTOTEL Thamrin is holding a solo photography exhibition by young emerging photographer, Rony Zakaria. Titled Men, Mountains, and the Sea, Zakaria captures visual reality which captures strong connection between human and nature in Indonesia.
As appointed partner of JIPFest 2019, ARTOTEL Thamrin helps curate emerging artists with potential to participate at the photography festival. Rony Zakaria displayed a total of 16 artworks featuring more than 150 active volcanoes in Indonesia and landscape photos of 80.000 kilometers of Indonesian coastline. At the exhibition, art enthusiast could also see Zakaria’s approach to capture strong connection between human with mountains and sea.
Zakaria framed the human civilization through sacred moments and rituals which honors mountains and seas. He wants to show the public about the relationship between human and nature that has been preserved since a long time ago.
“As one of ARTOTEL Group properties that always provide a place for art and creative activities, we are very proud to be a part of JIPFEST 2019 activities, as the first international photography activities conducted in Indonesia, especially In Jakarta.
