Italian food is one of the city’s favourites and the recently-opened Oso Ristorante, perched above the capital at The Plaza, is the latest addition to the many gems that dot central Jakarta.
Chef Nazzario taps into his Puglian roots and serves up a range of delights that are decadent, authentic and incredibly delicious. Some of his menu’s highlights include Octopus with smoked paprika, Chittara - which involves deliciously tender, spicy wagyu meatballs in a tomato ragu and spring chicken with potatoes, which is incredibly delectable.
But there are two dishes that stand out that are sure to delight. The Pizza Carbonara is decidedly the best in Jakarta, hands down. Pecorino cheese with black pepper, garlic butter and quail eggs combine to produce the best pie this city has ever seen. No doubt. Nazario’s family recipe for Tiramisu will have you pondering a second serve but the panna cotta is certainly a show stopper.
This is one Italian restaurant that must be absolutely be on one’s rotation. Come for the food, stay for the stunning views, and revel in the delights of international cuisine in Jakarta.
