Five-star hotel Raffles Jakarta introduces a new culinary venue called “The Dining Room” as an innovative concept which showcases a fully integrated show kitchen and a sophisticated main dining area with a view. As part of its launching momentum, The Dining Room is expected to present a line-up of restaurant takeovers, guest chefs collaborations and culinary events every month for guests to experience.

The debut event in September is a kitchen takeover with Chef Ton from Le Du, Bangkok and Chef Maxie Millian from Sangsaka Bali.

Chef Ton will be hosting an exclusive dinner at The Dining Room, featuring contemporary and modern Thai cuisine. Using the finest ingredients including local and organic products, the dinner will be paired with selected premium wine.

Chef Ton pursued his dreams at the Culinary Institute of America and have worked for Eleven Madison Park and Jean Georges in New York. Returning to Thailand with a vision to elevate Thai cuisine, he now runs the kitchens at Le Du and Baan, which offers traditional flavours and local seasonal ingredients influenced by progressive French techniques. His restaurant, Le Du, was awarded one Michelin star in 2018 and named No. 20 in this year’s “Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants”.

The modern Thai dinner is available on 14 September 2019 at IDR 1,200,000 per person and IDR 1,500,000 with additional wine pairing.

For two day event from 18 to 19 September, The Dining Room will host Chef Maxie Millian for creative dinner featuring rich Indonesian cuisine.

Another takeover will take place on 18 and 19 September, with Chef Maxie Millian hosting a creative dinner featuring rich Indonesian cuisine. Inspired by a collection of the sophisticated menu from Sangsaka Restaurant in Bali, the dinner also uses a wide range of woods and charcoal to create unique dishes mimicking distinct flavours from around the archipelago.

Chef Maxie Millian’s cooking career has taken him not only across the main hubs in Indonesia, but also through some of the more diverse and luxurious restaurants in the world such as Al Mahara, Burj Al Arab, Dubai and Vu’s Jumeirah Emirate Towers, Dubai. Guests could indulge the Chef Maxie’s dishes priced at IDR 1,200,000 net per person and IDR 1,500,000 with additional wine pairing.

In the following month, Raffles Jakarta will present more exciting culinary adventures showcasing culinary destinations from Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Paris and more.
