Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta Celebrates 10th Anniversary with a Series of Events

NEWS | 4 November 2021

The regal five-star Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta has reached a new milestone as they celebrate their 10th anniversary. In celebration of a decade of excellent hospitality and service, they held a series of events throughout October.

To kick off the festivities, the Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta collaborated with the Indonesian Fashion Entrepreneur Designers Association (APPMI) Yogyakarta on an event dubbed “Bercengkrama Dengan Batik”, which showcased several collections from young and talented designer members of APPMI. Additionally, the hotel also had the privilege of hosting an anniversary event titled “Inspirasi Pagi” at Yogyakarta’s Presidential Palace – Gedung Agung Yogyakarta, as well as conducting a coffee knowledge and barista class, and excellent service training for the staff.

As a highlight of its 10th-anniversary celebrations, Royal Ambarrukmo organised an exquisite banquet lunch, where they invited their VIP guests and took them on a journey back through time and revisited the culinary experiences from Yogyakarta’s noble families of the past, from the reign of Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono VII until Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX.

During the lunch banquet, they presented "Ladosan Dhahar Kembul Bujana" featuring 12 varieties of dishes and beverages, which was curated through culinary history research of the favourite dishes of past kings based on a deep-rooted collaboration with Prof. Dr. Ir. Murdijati Gardjito, one of the first Indonesian gastronomic researchers and observers. Furthermore, guests staying in Royal Ambarrukmo can indulge in all the special menu of the "Ladosan Dhahar Kembul Bujana" package, presented and served similarly to the Rijsttafel concept in the stunning ambience of the Bale Kambang venue.

They also brought back the batik stories of “Kawung and Truntum”, which is closely related to the history of Sri Hamengku Buwono VII, the king of Yogyakarta who lived in Kedhaton Ambarrukmo – a heritage building that was once the king’s residence and, coincidentally, located adjacent to the hotel. The philosophy of Batik Truntum was incorporated by Royal Ambarrukmo for their main logo, in addition to serving as inspiration to the hotel’s interior decoration.
