Institut Français d'Indonésie

The French Embassy and the Institut Français d’Indonésie (IFI) have returned to present the 27th edition of the Festival Sinema Prancis (FSP) from 21 November to 2 December, 2025, across 14 cities, including here in Jakarta.

A total of 20 films will be screened across the Cinema XXI network, Institut français d’Indonésie (IFI), Alliance Française (AF), and other partner locations in the country.

The festival opens with the premiere of Martin Bouboulon’s “13 jours 13 nuits” (13 Days 13 Nights) in eight cities simultaneously on 21 November 2025. This will be followed by the premiere of “Moon le Panda” (Moon The Panda) by renowned director Gilles de Maistre at IFI Thamrin on November 22, 2025.

In addition to these two films, FSP also highlights the spirit of Nouvelle Vague (New Wave) through the “Nouvelle Vague Afternoon” program in Jakarta on 23 November (free of charge), which will be followed by a discussion with the Jakarta Cinema Club and a screening of “À bout de souffle” (Breathless) and other classics by Jean-Luc Godard and François Truffaut.

On 24 November, French horror cinema takes centre stage with the premiere of Sébastien Vaniček’s “Vermines” (Infested), followed by a cross-perspective discussion on horror cinema between Vaniček and Joko Anwar.

To conclude, Cédric Klapisch’s “La Venue de l’avenir” (Colors of Time) will be screened across the IFI and AF networks on 2 December.

FSP 2025 also features short films by SAE Indonesia students before the opening and closing films, as well as the second edition of the Indonesia–France Film Lab at JAFF Market Yogyakarta, which strengthens support for new-generation talent.
