Hotel Tentrem Jakarta brings the spirit of the traditional market indoors with Pasar Senggol Kayu Manis, a weekly culinary experience that captures the warmth, colour and familiar bustle of Indonesia’s beloved pasar in a refined hotel setting.

“Pasar Senggol” loosely translates to “bumping market”, referring to the crowded movement of traditional evening bazaars where visitors move closely from one stall to another. Formerly known as Pasar Sambung Jawa, the term later became associated with the lively, communal character of Indonesia’s night markets.

For the programme, Kayu Manis is transformed into a culinary marketplace inspired by traditional Indonesian pasar malam. The set-up features lantern-style lighting, live food stations and a selection of regional dishes, reflecting Hotel Tentrem Jakarta’s approach to warm Javanese hospitality and tradition, while still bringing the elements that makes the hotel beloved by travellers.

The menu features dishes from across the Indonesian archipelago, including Nasi Liwet, Gudeg Jogja, Soto Ayam Kampung, Rawon, Bakso Kuah, Martabak and Ayam Penyet. Guests can also find popular street snacks such as Cireng, Cilok, Cimol, Tempe Mendoan, Telur Gulung and Bakwan Sayur. Pasar Senggol Kayu Manis is priced at IDR 388,000++ per person and served in an all-you-can-eat buffet format.

Located in Alam Sutera, one of Greater Jakarta’s growing lifestyle and dining areas, Pasar Senggol Kayu Manis highlights communal dining through Indonesian food with familiar flavours and welcoming surrounding designed to bring guests together every Saturday evening.
