To celebrate Hungary’s National Day on 2 November, the Embassy of Hungary invites representatives of the Indonesian public life and members of the international community in Jakarta to a special reception that includes a performance by Hungarian virtuoso pianist and composer Balázs Havasi.

“His music show blends the depth and discipline of classical tradition with the dazzling diversity of world music,” H.E. Judit Nemeth-Pach, Hungarian Ambassador to Indonesia, said. In addition to the music performance, the reception will also include an introduction to Hungarian creativity. “We will display the very unique Hungarian Sugarbird fashion brand’s exclusive Zsolnay collection and a high-quality pottery exhibition by Ildikó Chlumetzky,” the Ambassador said, adding that guests can also look forward to culinary pleasures. “Grand Tokaj Winery will serve the sweetest drops of the world-famous Hungarian Tokaji wine and an appetizing selection of Hungaricum bites will pay homage to Hungarian culinary traditions,” she explained.

The National Day Reception is sponsored by Hungarian companies that have established excellent business relations in Indonesia, such as Budapest Waterworks which plays an important role in developing water management in 34 settlements throughout Indonesia. The festivities will continue even after November 2. Hungarian-Indonesian bilateral business relations have been on the rise since H.E. Mr. Viktor Orbán, Prime Minister of Hungary paid an official visit to Jakarta earlier this year. In order to further enhance the economic partnership between the two countries, the 4th Session of Hungarian-Indonesian Joint Economic Committee will be held right after the National Day Reception on November 3 and 4, and large-scale business forums will take place in Jakarta and Bali. “We are also strengthening ties in the field of higher education,” the Ambassador said. “Hungary has recently launched a scholarship program for 50 Indonesian students annually covering all costs of their studies, and on November 3,  representatives of the best Hungarian and Indonesian universities will gather in Jakarta for the 3rd Indonesian-Hungarian Higher Education Forum.”
