Paulaner Bräuhaus, Indonesia’s only genuine German microbrewery celebrated its third Oktoberfest this year from October 5 to 8.

Celebrating Oktoberfest at Paulaner Brauhaus Jakarta (1) Paulaner Bräuhaus kicked off the festivities in Jakarta with the “Anstich” tradition, where the first litre of specially brewed Oktoberfest beer was tapped by the world’s only Indonesian brewmaster, Arie Susanto. The ingredients for this special brew were imported from Munich and brewed on-site at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta’s microbrewery. To provide an authentic Bavarian atmosphere, German folk band Edelweiss Power entertained partygoers with various attractive games, competitions and an eclectic musical performance. “This year’s Oktoberfest carries on where the previous one left off two years ago,” said Frederik Van den Borre, Director of Food & Beverages Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta. “Our waiters and waitresses were wearing traditional lederhosen and dirndl dresses, [we served numerous] barrels of beer, delicious wurst and pork knuckle, and were singing and dancing until the early morning hours.” Celebrating Oktoberfest at Paulaner Brauhaus Jakarta (2) Oktoberfest by Paulaner Bräuhaus successfully attracted thousands of guests, making it one of the biggest Oktoberfest celebrations in Jakarta. Next year, the brewery restaurant promises to present an even bigger entertainment programme in order to introduce the Bavarian tradition of Oktoberfest to the Indonesian public.
