It’s not every day you come across a bar that spins a cocktail menu into a full-fledged narrative. Eden Bar, however, has done just that. Perched high on level 90 of Thamrin Nine complex, this botanical libation haven has unveiled the first chapter of a trilogy that is set to unravel from now to December.
The Story of Botanical Kingdom, as the opening act, launches on 23 September 2024 and will run for a week until 29 September. It promises to bring guests into a world where flavour meets fantasy and where honour for nature makes an integral part of the show.
This series features four signature cocktails, each embodying one of four royal figures from the fictional Botanical Kingdom. “The King” represents wisdom, with a smooth blend of sweet vermouth, chamomile orange bitters, and wine reduction. “The Queen” captures grace and beauty, using gin infused with sakura tea, mango orange bitters, and vermouth to delicate effect. Meanwhile, “The Commander” flexes its strength with a peanut bourbon and chocolate vermouth concoction, and “The Soldier” brings bravery to life with a mix of Don Julio silver and mesoyi vermouth. And as the bar ventures into this trilogy of taste, the storytelling aspect comes alive. Each drink doesn’t just land in your glass—it brings a backstory.
Beyond the fancy names and ingredients, there’s a method to this cocktail madness. Eden Bar’s entire concept revolves around sustainability. Their ‘skin to seed’ philosophy uses every part of the ingredients, from fruit infusions to the peels themselves. The ‘Mango’ cocktail, for instance, draws out the natural sweetness of the fruit, while the ‘Banana’ drink takes it up a notch, incorporating crisp banana skins as part of the presentation.
Eden Bar has carved out a space for itself not just by being Jakarta’s highest rooftop bar with a view to die for, but by creating an ambiance that’s lush, cosy, and vibrant, all while promoting eco-friendly practices.
