The first Hotel Public Relations Association in Indonesia, Himpunan Humas Hotel Indonesia (H3 Indonesia), celebrates its 30th anniversary; a historical milestone that highlights the profession’s unique role in shaping and strengthening Indonesia’s hospitality industry.
The celebration took place on 28 November 2025 at Lidah Lokal Bar, ARTOTEL Gelora Senayan, serving as a moment to foster camaraderie and to honour the organisation’s dedication to consistently delivering meaningful contributions to the country.
Over the past three decades, the role of hotel public relations has evolved significantly, from a function centred on publicity to a strategic discipline that builds reputation, strengthens public trust, and conveys positive narratives about the hospitality sector. Hotel public relations also plays a vital role in promoting Indonesian tourism, sharing stories of the nation’s natural beauty, cultural richness, and renowned warmth with both domestic and international audiences.
To mark the occasion, H3 Indonesia presented a special fashion show featuring notable designer Wilsen Willim, known for his modern, minimalist style and his elegant interpretation of Indonesian wastra (traditional textiles). Willim’s showcase formed part of H3 Indonesia’s support for Wastra Tourism 2026, an initiative by the Ministry of Tourism aimed at elevating traditional textiles as a cultural identity and global attraction.
H3 Indonesia has grown steadily, expanding its network to six management branches, including Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, and Bogor. The newest branches in Semarang and Surabaya strengthen connections among hotel PR professionals across regions and open up wider opportunities for collaboration in hospitality communications.
Yulia Maria, Chairwoman of H3 Indonesia for 2024–2026, remarked “Celebrating 30 years is not just about looking back, but also moving forward. I hope H3 Indonesia continues to build a space for professionalism and collaboration, as well as contribute to tourism in real ways.”
The anniversary also became a moment of appreciation for partners, industry practitioners, media, and creative communities whose support has shaped the journey of H3 Indonesia. This established synergy has been a backbone for the organisation of its positive effect on hospitality and tourism.
