Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar

Hotel Indigo, member of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle collection, unveils its second Indonesian property nestled in the scenic highlands of Bandung, Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar. Capturing the distinctive character and culture from its surroundings, this hotel invites guests to immerse in authentic local experiences through its vibrant sights, sounds and flavours.

Perched 700 meters above sea level, Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar offers a tranquil escape in the middle of the lush greenery and morning mists of Bandung. The design of this establishment is inspired by the local Sundanese word “Dagoan” meaning “to wait”, embodying warm hospitality awaiting visitors as they explore the Dago Pakar neighbourhood. The decor itself combines traditional Sundanese motifs and natural elements, seamlessly blending into the aesthetic of the hotel that features cascading waterfalls, classic Bandung batik and artworks of the renowned folklores of the nearby Tangkuban Perahu mountain. All of these are amplified by the floor-to-ceiling windows in the lobby showcasing the picturesque views of the hillside landscape upon first entrance.

The hotel boasts 277 rooms and suites, each with breathtaking views of Dago Pakar and featuring comfortable daybeds for relaxation. Thoughtful design elements like local batik motifs and topographic contours also adorn the rooms, bringing a sense of tradition and contemporary comfort together.

Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar artfully combines local culture and international practice, creating meal hubs that both celebrate culinary traditions and innovations, offering not just a meal but a journey through Sundanese heritage and the vibrant spirit of Dago Pakar:-

Joempa, the main restaurant, brings the essence of Dago Pakar to life with savoury and spicy dishes from West Java. Guests can savour cuanki, a Sundanese protein-rich broth, and batagor, fried tenggiri fish dumplings served with peanut sauce. The restaurant emphasises seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms and spice gardens, offering visually stunning dishes prepared with modern techniques and served family-style.

Later this year, Karbon, the rooftop restaurant and bar, will introduce an Asian grill and smokehouse concept, with dishes prepared over open kitchen embers. The beverage menu will feature cocktail twists on Sundanese drinks like bandrek and bajigur, along with locally sourced coffee, tea, and fresh fruits.

Dagoan Lounge offers an inviting space for snacks and drinks, capturing the local community’s lively spirit. The lounge’s design incorporates vibrant graffiti, colourful mural art, traditional gerobak stalls, and batik ceramics, blending rustic charm with art deco flair. With playful décor and cosy seating, it provides a perfect spot to relax and admire the sweeping views of the surrounding hills.

Additional amenities include Bandung’s highest rooftop infinity pool, offering stunning vistas of Dago Pakar, a Kids Club featuring traditional Sundanese games and activities, a 24-hour gym, in-room dining, and later this year, nine stylish meeting rooms and a spacious Grand Ballroom equipped with state-of-the-art technology, ideal for events ranging from intimate gatherings to large weddings.

Dago Pakar Attractions

Dago Pakar itself as a location offers a haven surrounded by tea plantations, lush forests, and natural waterfalls. Nestled in Bandung’s northern reaches, this area seamlessly melds Sundanese culture with European influences, earning the moniker ‘Paris of Java’. With just a 30-minute bullet-train ride from Jakarta, guests can discover scenic attractions just moments from the hotel – from a tour of the city’s botanical gardens, Taman Hutan Raya Juanda, to an adventurous hike up Tebing Keraton to enjoy the sunrise from one of the highest points in Bandung. The hotel also enjoys proximity to Djuanda Forest Park, a sprawling conservation area and botanical garden boasting over 2,500 plant species and endangered wildlife. Its central location allows guests to explore the lively local community, indulge in Indo-Dutch cuisine such as pisang molen (banana wrapped in baked flour), and experience the lively folk-art scene with creatives, artists, musicians, performers, and writers.
