Indonesian hospitality company, PHM brings back the annual art and culture celebration OctobArt as an initiative to fuse Indonesian creative scenes with lifestyle living. After a successful story organising Travel Sketch at its 1O1 hotels, the 2019 OctobArt is a simultaneous creative event that takes place in a number of hotels under PHM hospitality across the country.

This year’s highlight include Indonesian illustrator Raka Jana and Arsa as they share their skills to the public to develop the value of illustration works. OctobArt also invites taraturu collective, an art community that will run a workshop about woodcut painting. Art enthusiasts could learn graphic art technique through black ink painting and wood carving as an experimental visual work.

Creative communities from visual art, photography, film, music and literature are synergised to celebrate the industry and spread the inspiration to local communities that hope to invent an innovation. For the last two years, PHM as a local hospitality company wants to promote the creative industry on its hotel brands as a response to the current lifestyle of today’s travellers.

Starting from 12 October, OctobArt runs art sessions featuring Indonesian artists during the weekend throughout the month. To join the session, art enthusiasts could visit PHM hotel brands such as The Haven, The 100, the BnB and FRii in eight cities including Jakarta Bogor, Malang, Bali, Palembang and Batam.
