The five-star hotel has paired with Singapore’s famed TWG Tea to launch “Tea Teddies”, tea-infused gourmet gummies that dissolve into a fragrant brew or can be nibbled straight from the box. It is a collaboration that blurs the line between confection and ritual, now available exclusively at The Lounge.
This is the first hotel in the country to host the confection, and, according to TWG insiders, will remain the only address to do so for at least six months. In other words, if you want to sip (or chew) these bears before Christmas, South Jakarta is your one and only port of call.
Designed for those who want their tea experience to come with a side of whimsy, the TWG Tea Teddies are not your typical afternoon indulgence. The experience is guided by a deck of “Teddies Tarot” cards: choose a card, meet your flavour, and let the divination decide the order of service, guiding your tasting adventure.
Each gummy is laced with tea leaves and fruit notes, ranging from the zest of Mango & Orange to the mellow notes of Blueberry, which all will be presented as a part of an interactive tea-tasting journey. Place one in hot water and it melts, tinting your cup a pastel hue and releasing a gentle sweetness. Keep it intact and you have an upscale pick-and-mix.
This isn’t just a gimmick, either. As always with TWG Tea, the craftsmanship is top-tier.
