Wyndham Casablanca Jakarta’s stylish new Casablanca Suite is breathing new life to this classic city hotel.

Clichéd as it may sound, the only constant in Jakarta is change. The city grows and reinvents itself at breakneck speed, with trends appearing and disappearing almost overnight. Yet such constant transformation can blur identity and push even established names into obscurity. Wyndham Casablanca Jakarta has navigated this challenge, guided by a focus on staying relevant without losing its sense of self. This principle is what shapes the hotel’s recent refurbishment, a careful reinvention that preserves its legacy while redefining it for a new generation of guests.

“The idea,” says General Manager Indra Budiman, “was to create a living environment that reflects our guests’ evolving needs, a space that balances modern sophistication with warmth and familiarity.” That vision comes to life in the new Casablanca Suite, where design, comfort, convenience converge.

This is the hotel’s most premium accommodation, an opulent two-bedroom suite that is full of life and character, from its private foyer entry to suave study area, stocked with encyclopaedias and literary classics – all real books, not just an aesthetic add-on. It’s one of the many details that gives the Casablanca Suite its warmth, a lived-in feeling that turns a hotel stay into a homey sanctuary.

“There’s a growing trend of staycations among people in Jakarta and its satellite cities,” Budiman adds. “They don’t want to go through all the hassle of travel and traffic, but they still want a change of scenery and to relax, that’s what we had in mind when carrying out these renovations.”

The suite is split into wings, with the Master Bedroom taking the left wing, a spacious and grandly decorated room that certainly speaks to the suites name, Casablanca – that golden-age grace. The marbled bathroom certainly meets the criteria, with its freestanding bathtub as its centre-piece. This is complemented by the dual rain shower, and spacious adjoining walk-in wardrobe – complete with ironing station, for those who like to dress their best. Every element feels measured and deliberate. Marble for clarity, custom-woven rugs for warmth, and ambient lighting that softens the edges of luxury. Meanwhile, the second bedroom is fitted with twin beds and its own ensuite, polished with the same attention to comfort and proportion.

The central living space is the hub of all activity, complete with a full dining table that sits eight, above which a fabulous soft-light chandelier adds to the atmosphere. A plush lounge area is anchored by a 72-inch television, and adjoining open-kitchen allows guests to cook up meals at their hearts content, complete with modern appliances, including laundry and dryer.

The hotel’s renewal extends beyond the suite to 112 refurbished rooms, from the Urban and Grand Deluxe categories to the Executive Club Rooms and Junior Suites. The same design continues in the hotel’s public spaces, where restaurants, lounges, and common areas have been quietly redefined.

“These upgrades are about continuity,” Budiman explains. “A hotel should feel coherent. Every space, from a meeting room to a suite, must carry the same sense of care.”

This philosophy is mirrored in Wyndham Casablanca Jakarta’s operational rhythm. Under Budiman’s guidance, the hotel has evolved into a hybrid destination that caters equally to business travellers, leisure guests, and long-stay residents.

Mr. Indra Budiman, General Manager of Wyndham Casablanca Jakarta.

Mr. Indra Budiman also serves as Area General Manager for Wyndham properties in Indonesia, overseeing Resort Operations, Travel & Leisure, with over 17 years of experience in hospitality leadership, his role focuses on consistency, collaboration, and guest satisfaction. During his tenure, the hotel has been given multiple recognitions, including The Indonesian Best Guest Satisfaction Hotel and Best Indonesian Performed Hotel in 2023.

Rather than management by distance, Budiman favours a hands-on approach for both his staff and guests. “Service is equally important as design. Here, personalised and hands-on service is a strength we take pride in. People spend money on hotels not just for their rooms but also for the service we provide, and you cannot feel at home here if the hosts do not treat you as their most important guests.”

This perspective has guided every phase of the hotel’s renewal. The refurbishment carries a tone of respect for Indonesia’s hospitality culture, local craftsmanship, and for sustainability. Bespoke rugs by Indonesian artisans and the use of durable, locally sourced materials reflect those ethos. This property understands that luxury is a matter of composition, a hotel anchored in the harmony of space, service, and stillness.
