ESMOD Jakarta closed the year with its largest annual campus showcase to date as the ESMOD Jakarta Creative Show 2025 took place at the Ballroom of Sheraton Grand Gandaria City Hotel, bringing together final works from its graduating class in a single public presentation that signalled both an end point and a professional beginning.
The Creative Show has become a fixture in ESMOD Jakarta’s academic calendar, serving as the final platform for graduates to present work shaped by industry-facing briefs and real-world expectations. Following the momentum of last year’s edition, the 2025 showcase expanded in scale and scope, reflecting the institution’s emphasis on positioning its students within an increasingly competitive and fast-moving creative economy.

This year’s presentation featured 198 works by 77 graduates across three academic tracks: the Creative Business Program, the Fashion Design Program, and the Fashion Design and Pattern Making Program. The Creative Business students presented final projects centred on brand extension and co-branding strategies, each developed in collaboration with a selected brand and translated into practical, market-oriented proposals. The Fashion Design and Pattern Making Program showcased ready-to-wear mini collections that prioritised construction, fit, and commercial viability. Meanwhile, the Fashion Design Program unveiled full collections across five specialisations, ranging from Emerging Designer Women and Men to New Couture Lux, Menswear Urban and Tailoring, Lingerie and Bodywear, and Emerging Designer Kids and Teen.
All works were assessed earlier during Jury Day in August 2025, where they underwent evaluation by 29 professionals drawn from across the creative industries. The jury included designers, media figures, and brand experts such as Hian Tjen, Maya Ratih, Larasati Dewangga Putri, Tommy Ambiyo Tedji, and Zamri Mamat. The Creative Show marked the first time these assessed works were presented to the public.

Carried by the theme “Light and Shape”, the showcase reflected ESMOD Jakarta’s approach to education, where conceptual thinking is translated into tangible outcomes. Across the Fashion Design Program, audiences encountered theatrical silhouettes, contemporary interpretations of traditional fabrics, textured surfaces, and experimental tailoring that reworked garment structure. The Fashion Design and Pattern Making collections focused on refined ready-to-wear pieces, modern femininity, technical precision, and designs that accommodated varied body types and personal expression. In parallel, the Creative Business presentations highlighted strategic thinking, commercial awareness, and a clear understanding of how creativity operates within industry systems.
Three graduates were awarded the Coup De Cœur Du Jury (Grand Jury Award) 2025: Rateh Wulandari from Fashion Design and Pattern Making, Beatrice Angelica from Fashion Design and Creation, and Marfella Cory Ong from the Creative Business Program. Their selections reflected both the strength of individual vision and the ability to translate ideas into coherent, professional outputs.

Guillaume Oger, Deputy Director of Academic Programs at ESMOD Jakarta, noted that the Creative Show is designed to introduce graduates to the wider public while connecting them directly with industry practitioners. He emphasised the importance of exposure and collaboration, pointing to the diverse personal identities and creative perspectives that define the institution’s graduating class and reflect the character of Indonesia’s younger generation.
For industry observers, the ESMOD Jakarta Creative Show 2025 offered a snapshot of emerging talent ready to engage with the professional landscape. For readers and creative professionals alike, it serves as a reminder to watch closely, support early collaborations, and keep an eye on the next steps these graduates take beyond the runway and presentation stage.
