Jakarta to Host Takeshi Kakehashi Piano Concert at Soehanna Hall

Jakarta will host an afternoon of classical music on 5 April 2026, as Japanese pianist Takeshi Kakehashi takes the stage at Soehanna Hall for a rare local performance. Born blind and trained in Vienna from a young age, Kakehashi’s international career has taken him from Europe to the Americas, including a debut at Carnegie Hall.

He will be joined by Indonesian composer-pianist Ananda Sukarlan and Michael Anthony Kwok, who will perform a newly written work, alongside soprano Mariska Setiawan. Organised by Lions Club Jakarta Cendana, the concert begins at 3 pm and invites listeners to spend a thoughtful Sunday with music that crosses cultures and generations.
