ARTSPACE at ARTOTEL Gelora Senayan opens its 2026 exhibition programme with Mirage, a group exhibition presented in collaboration with J+ Art Awards 2026 by Connected Art Platform.
On view until 24 October, the exhibition brings together ten works by nine artists, each approaching contemporary life from a different perspective. The works touch on a wide range of subjects from cultural identity and personal memory to the environment and everyday life. While each artist brings a distinct perspective, the exhibition as a whole offers a glimpse into the ideas occupying a new generation of contemporary artists.
Visitors will encounter a diverse mix of works throughout the exhibition. Adril Wak Yong’s Patah Kemudi reflects on the search for Malay cultural identity, while Agung Bule’s KUNING #82 lets intuition guide the painting process. Camelia Mitasari Hasibuan’s Sound of Nature (Sea Series) looks at the sea through the lens of memory, ancestry and sustainability, while Minji Sani’s The Pseudo-Stage: A Shelter of Memory explores the fragility of domestic spaces amid modernisation and socio-political change.
Some of the exhibition’s most compelling moments come from the ordinary life. Mivetboi’s MONOLOG RUANG TENGAH. and Kembali Senja explore reflection and self-discovery, while Mochamad Rizky Aditya’s Ecology without Nature reconsiders humanity’s relationship with nature. Patricia Geraldine Thebez’s The Weight of What Remains reconstructs personal memory to explore violence and women’s experiences, Raka Hadi Permadi’s Alok-Aruh reflects on the fading habit of greeting one another, and Yung Finando’s Urgent presents a surreal landscape of information overload and the search for moments of calm.
On display at ARTSPACE, the exhibition offers an introduction to a diverse group of emerging artists, each with a distinct way of looking at the world. Taken together, the works reveal how contemporary art continues to respond to the questions, concerns and experiences of everyday life.
