JIPFest 2026: Seeing Resilience from Different Angles

Looking for something different to add to your Jakarta plans? JIPFest 2026 returns to Taman Ismail Marzuki with RESILIENCE as its theme. The festival features photography and lens-based art from Indonesia and around the world, looking at climate change, culture, politics and everyday life.

From 11–20 September, more than 50 works by artists from 19 countries will be presented across the 10-day festival. The programme includes exhibitions, artist talks, workshops, portfolio reviews, projection nights and discussions. Family, memory, identity, nature and community all come into the picture as artists consider what resilience can mean in different circumstances. For those curious about contemporary photography, JIPFest is a chance to discover new names and see familiar subjects from a different angle.
