Tokyo street food has a way of making a meal feel like an outing, whether it is a hot serving of takoyaki, a crisp chicken katsu sandwich or something sweet with matcha. For the next few months, those cravings can be answered without a trip to Japan, as Archipelago Hotels takes ‘60 Seconds to Tokyo’ to more than 130 properties across Indonesia.

Running from 1 July to 31 December 2026, the latest edition of the Archipelago Global Flavours Series covers Aston, Alana, Harper, Quest, Hotel Neo and fave. The menu is open to hotel guests and the general public, with participating properties serving the dishes at their restaurants, poolside, through room service and via online food delivery services.

From crispy snacks and sandwiches to rice dishes, burgers and desserts, the menu covers a broad range of Japanese-inspired comfort food. Chicken Katsu Sando, Takoyaki, Hambagu and Yakimeshi Fried Rice appear alongside Wagyu Burger, Chicken Kamikaze, Grilled Chicken Breast with Koji Sauce and Prawn Tempura Nori Taco, making the line-up suited to anything from a quick bite to a proper meal.

The menu also has a few dishes worth seeking out, including Menchi Chicken Katsu, which pairs crisp chicken with a signature sauce inspired by modern Japanese cooking. Sakura Sunset brings floral notes to the drinks list, while the Kuromitsu Matcha Puff combines earthy matcha and rich kuromitsu in light puff pastry. Japanese Cotton Cheesecake offers another dessert option, with Shizuku Matcha Cooler, Shiso-Basil Berry and Hojicha Latte rounding out the drinks.

Behind the campaign are Ren and Reina, whose own ties to Japanese food add a personal element to the menu. Ren, who is of Indonesian-Japanese descent, focuses on the culinary side and helps ensure the dishes retain their traditional Japanese character, while Reina, a Japanese national living in Indonesia, brings her enthusiasm for the street food she has missed from home.

Following 60 Seconds to Seoul, the previous edition of the Archipelago Global Flavours Series, the Tokyo campaign continues the hotel group’s journey through Asian food cultures. The Seoul edition received the Marketeers OMNI Brands of the Year 2026 award for Hospitality Engagement Campaign.

“Through 60 Seconds to Tokyo, we aim to bring an authentic yet accessible Japanese culinary experience to guests across Indonesia,” said John Flood, CEO of Archipelago Hotels. “Following the success of our previous Archipelago Global Flavours Series: 60 Seconds to Seoul, which was honoured with the Marketeers OMNI Brands of the Year 2026 award for the Hospitality Engagement Campaign, we are excited to bring Tokyo to our guests as our next culinary destination. Through this campaign, we aim to showcase the city’s distinctive flavours and vibrant food culture while creating memorable culinary experiences across our hotels.”

Whether it is a quick bite between plans or a meal worth sitting down for, the campaign offers a chance to sample a different side of Japanese food culture without leaving Indonesia.
