Libros Jakarta

Libros Cocktail Bar – a new bar in Jakarta opening in January 2026

A new concept that celebrates tipples with literature arrives in Jakarta, high above the bustle. CasaLeña’s third floor glows with its own rhythm, inviting guests to a space designed for lingering conversations and crafted cocktails. At Libros, shelves of books line the walls, and the atmosphere borrows the vintage cocktail culture from Latin American lounges.

Within this backdrop, gatherings take on their own shape. The bar’s 60‑guest capacity allows for birthdays, brand launches, or private celebrations, with sofa corners and bar seating arranged to suit the mood. Flexibility is built into the design, ensuring each occasion feels tailored without losing Libros’ character.

As the rhythm continues through the week, Libros sets the soundtrack. Thursdays pulse with Tech House and Progressive, Fridays glide on R&B grooves, and Saturdays spark with karaoke and chart‑topping favourites. Each evening carries its own energy, balanced by a warm and intentional atmosphere. Guests can even shape the night themselves—bringing their own DJ or choosing from Libros’ selected playlists. The guiding ethos is clear: Your night. Your rules. Our bar.

Behind the bar, Ozy Ahmad tells stories in liquid form. His cocktail program respects the classics but adds inventive twists with signature creations such as Spicy Mathilda and Coco and the Coconut. Premium spirits and curated bites complete the experience, ensuring every glass feels considered.

With its literary‑inspired design and curated cocktails, Libros establishes itself as a destination for those who want their nights in Jakarta to unfold with stories worth retelling.

Paris Café

Paris Cafe Jakarta 1 - new restaurants in Jakarta 2026

From the group that brought us Paris Bistro comes a new dining venue that similarly celebrates French cuisine in Jakarta. Paris Café brings the nation’s quintessential café culture to the city, served in a setting inspired by the iconic Arts et Métiers metro station in Paris.

Perched along the popular eat street of Jalan Wolter Mongisidi, South Jakarta, Paris Café has been designed as an all-day dining destination, inviting patrons for coffees and pastries in the morning, to winding down over a glass of wine in the evening. café presents an iconic retro-steampunk aesthetic across the interiors, a design inspired by a very specific visual style from early 1900s.

When it comes to food, like at Paris Bistro, the menu offers a modern interpretation of French cuisine, as well as wider selections. The Brunch menu features classic French Omelette, Croque Madame and Monsieur, and a signature Lorraine Brunch Quiche. Whilst day and evening favourites may include the Chef’s Favourite Galette, Beef Cheek Ragù, Beurre Blanc Salmon  to Duck Confit. A menu of prime steaks is available for a heartier meal,  or comfort-favourite pastas, flatbreads and fresh starters make for go-to lunchtime staples.

As always with French cuisine, desserts are a must, of which there are many at Paris Café. The Milky Tapioca (artisanal milk ice cream, tapioca pearls and milk jam) and the Raspberry Pavlova are two standout favourites. This French connection is a very welcome addition to the slew of new restaurants in Jakarta.

Vagabond

Perched on the 25th floor of Multivision Tower in Kuningan, Vagabond is a personality-driven cocktail bar shaped by global bar culture, creative expression and an instinctive read of the crowd. With intimate rooms orbiting a striking central counter, this bar’s design favours intention over trend. A space suitable for slow and relaxing evenings, accompanied by music that matches the distinct Jakarta energy.

Co-founded by Michael Callahan, a widely respected name in modern mixology whose career spans Africa, Asia, Europe and North America, with long spells in island destinations from the Maldives to Bali. Working alongside Callahan is Payman Bahmani-Bailey, Vagabond Jakarta’s General Manager, whose résumé runs from New York and Los Angeles to Taipei and Singapore, with a stint in the Mediterranean. The pair previously collaborated at Proof & Company, helping define the culture behind the award-winning 28 HongKong Street.

At the heart of the bar is a tightly edited menu of 12 signature cocktails, supported by rotating modern and classic serves, visiting collaborations and three communal punch bowls that revive the convivial pleasure of shared drinking.

The drinks are expressive, occasionally provocative, such as Untitled (2025), a layered rum cocktail inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat’s raw-meets-refined aesthetic; The Beagle, a freezer martini that evolves as a brined ice sphere melts, a quiet nod to Darwin and the poetry of change; and The Whizzer, clarified and carbonated, built with garam masala gin and chicken stock; surprising, savoury and oddly compelling.

A small stage anchors Vagabond’s evolving programme: DJs, curated music journeys and ritual-led moments that gently recalibrate the room. Vagabond joins Jakarta’s nightlife offering a worldly yet warm counterpoint within a city already rich with after-dark options.
