Anda Reserva Pondok Indah
A hand-painted mural and stone fountain define the entrance at Anda Reserva Pondok Indah.

Jakarta has no shortage of studios, and spas focused on balance and recovery. In the southern residential areas, however, spaces that allow people to move, rest, and recover with ease remain limited. As one of the first social wellness clubs in Jakarta, Anda Reserva Pondok Indah was conceived to answer that gap. At this wellness space, that sense of easiness is apparent on arrival.

Although the venue fronts a main road, the shift in atmosphere is palpable as soon as you enter. A wide parking forecourt sits between the street and the building, this space absorbs all the traffic noise that by the time you reach the entrance, the city feels distant. Interiors here take inspiration from Spanish colonial architecture with a compact foyer around a small stone fountain set on chequered tiles, behind it, a hand-painted mural in bright colours spans the wall.

To the side, the wellness kitchen is immediately visible, marked by terracotta-tiled tables, exposed timber beams, and arched openings. It brings a sense of home that helps to decompress from Jakarta, and immediately gives impression that this is a one-step wellness place designed for daily life.

NOW! Jakarta visited on a weekday morning when Pondok Indah moves at its slowest. Inside, the rhythm was unhurried. Parents signed children into their spacious playroom before heading to classes (some pilates and others yoga). A few regulars lingered at the wellness kitchen with smoothies and brunch meals. Others strolled between the pool, studios and spas. The experience here follows a loose structure, but it never feels rigid, reinforcing the idea of a wellness centre built around flexibility.

The Aquawellness pool, designed for water-based movement and low-impact training

A large part of the facility revolves around water, though not in the way of a conventional swimming pool. The Aquawellness pool sits at the back of the venue; from the deck, the water is framed by white stone walls. Classes take place in chest-deep water, led by instructors who demonstrate movement slowly and clearly. The emphasis is on control, which immediately sets a different tone from most group workouts.

Temperature plays an important role. The cool water offers physical relief from Jakarta’s heat, and the effect is noticeable within minutes. Shoulders drop, breathing steadies, and movements feel lighter. Resistance is where Aquawellness becomes more demanding than it first appears. Water creates significantly more resistance than air, the sensation has been described as training with invisible weights. Muscles work continuously, but without the compression or impact associated with land-based training. There is no sweat, and no jarring movement!

This is also where the programme’s accessibility becomes apparent. In water, the body carries only a fraction of its usual weight. Movements that might feel heavy or unstable on land become manageable, allowing participants to focus on their forms. These classes are suitable even for all ages as seniors, postnatal mothers, and regular exercisers can adjust the intensity at their own pace.

The aqua classes vary in focus. Aquafit combines cardio and strength; Aqua Pilates centres on posture and core stability; Aqua Yoga emphasises controlled movement and mobility; Aqua Mat Yoga and Aqua Mat Pilates are conducted on floating platforms, requiring additional balance and core engagement.

A light-filled studio designed for pilates at Anda Reserva Pondok Indah

Beyond the pool, Anda Reserva functions as a complete wellness facility. The studio hosts pilates, yoga, and special classes in a bright, pared-back room with pale floors and mirrored walls. Nearby, the contrast therapy area pairs a traditional sauna with cold plunge pools. The materials here lean heavily on timber, softening the temperature shifts and keeping the space grounded, warm, and cosy. Taken together, the facilities position Anda Reserva as an all-in-one wellness space, where movement, recovery, and downtime sit comfortably side by side.

The spa continues this approach too. Treatment rooms are neutral and calm, offering full body massages, lymphatic drainage, and prenatal and postnatal therapies. There is little emphasis on indulgence, since the focus stays on comfort, privacy, and function. Beauty services, run by an in-house lash and nail partner, follow the same atmosphere.

Families are clearly the centre of the design of this social wellness club. Near the kitchen a children’s play area is set slightly apart, stocked with toys, soft play structures, and low seating. Parents can attend a class or treatment knowing their children are nearby, a detail that removes one of the most common barriers to regular wellness routines.

Food is treated with similar attention. The Wellness Kitchen serves whole food meals and functional smoothies, alongside a kids’ menu and a no-MSG policy. The space is casual, with tiled tables and natural light. It invites people to sit and eat properly, enjoying the moment while sharing chats and creating communities rather than just rushing through a post-workout snack.

A day pass here, priced at IDR 650,000, is valid on both weekdays and weekends. It includes a 50-minute pilates or yoga class, a 90-minute full body massage, 30 minutes of contrast therapy, and a discount at the wellness bar. Booking is handled via WhatsApp, and check-in is simple, with a bracelet issued on arrival.

For many Pondok Indah residents, wellness here no longer requires them leaving the neighbourhood. As a first-of-its-kind social wellness club in Jakarta, Anda Reserva offers a local, one-stop wellness place that first easily into everyday routines, encouraging people to move, rest, and reconnect on their own terms.
