The British School Jakarta (BSJ) proudly announces a groundbreaking achievement recognized by the Museum Rekor Dunia Indonesia (MURI) held on 19 April 2024. As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, BSJ orchestrated a record-breaking dance event, bringing together over 1,800 students and staff representing more than 50 nationalities.

The event took place on the school’s expansive Rugby Field, showcasing vibrant dance routines that symbolises BSJ’s unwavering commitment to fostering a global community. With participants coming in from diverse cultural backgrounds, BSJ has long been at the forefront of championing diversity and inclusion in education. Coinciding with the school’s golden jubilee, this momentous event also serves as an added layer of significance to the occasion. 

“We are incredibly honoured to have achieved this remarkable event, uniting over 50 nationalities in a dance celebration that reflects the Mission, Vision, and Values of our school,” said BSJ Principal, Mr. David Butcher. “Diversity and citizenship are core values at BSJ, and this record-breaking performance exemplifies our dedication to promoting understanding and unity within our school community. Given that BSJ is celebrating its 50th anniversary in this wonderful country of Indonesia, this type of event and celebration is testimony to our determination to embrace both local and global cultures.”
