The British Women’s Association (BWA) brought the energy of the British track to the heart of the city on 9 May 2026 with their “A Day at the Races” Charity Ball. Hosted at the Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta, the event saw local and expat residents trade standard formal wear for the bold hats and sharp tailoring typically found at major racing meets.

The event moved at a quick pace, featuring a charity auction and a catwalk where guests showcased their race-day outfits. While the fashion provided an engaging atmosphere, the true focus of the gathering remained fixed on raising funds for Rachel House Indonesia. As the country’s first provider of pediatric palliative care, Rachel House is a critical resource for children and families navigating life-limiting illnesses, a cause that stayed front and center throughout the day.

This commitment to driving local change has defined the BWA since its inception in 1975. For over five decades, the association has served as a practical network for women of all backgrounds to connect, collaborate, and engage in meaningful philanthropy. This annual gala stands as their flagship effort, successfully leveraging a premier social occasion to secure essential resources for vulnerable communities.
The strong turnout was the direct result of a collaborative push by dedicated sponsors, volunteers, and donors. By the end of the evening, the BWA had once again demonstrated its ability to turn a high-profile gathering into essential support for local healthcare initiatives.
