You wouldn’t expect a hotel gallery next to one of Jakarta’s most high-energy stadiums to be the place where time folds in on itself, but then again, Chronospira is not your average exhibition.
Opening 8 July 2025 at ARTOTEL Gelora Senayan, Chronospira is a mixed-media installation by renowned artist and production designer Dita Gambiro. Inspired by the upcoming film Sore: Istri dari Masa Depan, directed by Yandy Laurens and produced by Cerita Films, the exhibition offers a poetic interpretation of a woman who travels through time to save the man she loves.
The film is set to premiere on 10 July 2025, follows Sore, a woman from the future trying to intervene in her husband Jonathan’s destiny. But time, as it turns out, is no gentle thing. Between the film and its artistic companion, audiences are promised a cross-medium narrative experience that blends sci-fi with heartbreak, and art with intimacy.

A collaboration between Cerita Films and Artotel Wanderlust, Chronospira spins out the emotional tempo of Sore’s journey in haunting fragments. Draped fabrics, static photographs, and tactile objects become vessels of memory and witness, assembled not in a linear path but a fragmented spiral, which echoes the film’s core question: what happens when love tries to outrun fate?
“Sore knows the future, but Time doesn’t allow itself to be easily undone,” Dita explains. “This installation invites visitors to experience the tempo of her fight, the relentlessness of time and the way love keeps pushing forward, even as it collapses again and again.”
For Dita, who also served as production designer and art director for Sore, the installation is a continuation of the film’s inner universe. Beyond the fanfare, it’s also a new lens. “Seeing Dita’s interpretation in installation form adds a whole new dimension,” says director Yandy Laurens, whose previous collaborations with Dita include the crowd-favourite Satu Kakak Tujuh Ponakan and the critically acclaimed Jatuh Cinta Seperti di Film-Film, winner of seven Piala Citra awards.

ARTOTEL Wanderlust, the lifestyle and hospitality wing of Artotel Group, has not only opened its doors to Chronospira but also offered full support to the film’s production. From providing accommodation to hosting planning sessions and events, the partnership is as much about enabling stories as it is about telling them.
“We’re not just a hospitality brand, we’re here to help Indonesia’s creative industries grow,” said Eduard Rudolf Pangkerego, COO of Artotel Group. “Through our four pillars, which are Stay, Dine, Play, and Shop, we want to create platforms for Indonesian voices to be seen and heard, from here to the world. Supporting SORE is part of that vision.”
Admission to Chronospira is free, and the exhibition runs until 7 August 2025 at ARTOTEL Gelora Senayan.
