What makes a Sunday brunch something to look forward to? At Sugar & Spice, on the 1st floor of InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah, it is the pleasure of gathering around the table, catching up with family and friends and taking your time over a meal. This Sunday tradition continues with The Coastal Atelier, launching on 23 August 2026 with seafood, meats and flavours from both land and sea on the menu.
The afternoon begins with elegant pass-around canapés, including buttery Herbs Escargot baked in fragrant herb butter and the iconic Lobster Thermidor, where succulent lobster is served in a rich Cognac and Gruyère cream before being gratinéed to a golden finish.
One of the brunch’s fun surprises happens right at the table. The Mangut Cod Fish with Coconut Smoke offers a contemporary take on Indonesian Mangut. Delicate cod sits in a velvety coconut curry beneath a glass cloche filled with coconut smoke. Lift the dome and the toasted coconut aroma hits first. The toasted coconut sets you up for the first bite.
Then there is the Premium Open-Faced Sandwich Tray with three tempting options to choose from. Inspired by Scandinavian Smørrebrød, the selection includes Maine Lobster with lobster bisque aioli on toasted artisan brioche, Japanese Hokkaido Scallop with white truffle remoulade on rustic sourdough and Wagyu Beef Tataki with yuzu kosho aioli on multigrain artisan bread. Each one is assembled fresh at the table, so you can watch your pick come together before taking that first bite.
Three mocktails offer a refreshing break between courses. Azure Citrus has a bright citrus lift, Tide & Green is cool and herbaceous, while Golden Shore has a warmer, fruitier character. Each works just as well alongside the seafood as it does with lighter selections from the buffet.
The Coastal Atelier gives guests another reason to settle in, order another drink and stay at the table a little longer. Debuting on Sunday, 23 August 2026, the brunch is now open for reservations.
