Known for practicing a sustainable model on their hospitality business, Hotel Borobudur has received another prestigious achievement as an environmentally friendly hotel at the Indonesian Sustainable Tourism Awards 2019 in September.

Organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Indonesian Sustainable Tourism Awards presented Hotel Borobudur with the Green Hotel award, recognising the hospitality company’s proven commitment to move forward towards sustainability by practicing energy conservation, waste management and water treatment as well as incorporating various eco aspects in their operations.

Located at Jalan Lapangan Banteng Selatan, Central Jakarta, Borobudur is known for its lush green area over 23 acres of land. The hotel is the top destination for those looking for an oasis in the middle of the bustling capital. It’s not the first time the hotel received the awards for ‘green hotel’ as Hotel Borobudur Hotel Jakarta was also certified for their eco-friendliness by TUV Rheinland Group of Germany. The hotel also owns a green certificate from the Ministry of Environment for PROPER Excellency Programme in category blue. Consecutively from 2014 to 2016, Hotel Borobudur Jakarta has also received ASEAN Green Hotel Awards that made the Indonesian hotel become one of the greenest hotels in the whole Southeast Asia.
