Jakarta is once again joining World Wellness Weekend (WWW) from 18–20 September 2026, bringing a range of activities focused on health, fitness, self-care, community and the environment.
The city’s participation follows a strong showing in 2025, when Jakarta ranked sixth among the world’s top 10 participating cities, while Indonesia ranked ninth among the 10 most active participating countries. The achievement highlighted the growing interest in wellness among communities and businesses across the country.
Last year, hotels, spas, fitness centres, wellness communities and health businesses across Jakarta joined the movement with activities including yoga, Zumba, relaxation sessions, health talks and community programmes.
For the second year, Wulan Maharani Tilaar, Director of Martha Tilaar SPA, has been appointed City Ambassador for Jakarta. She will continue to encourage more businesses, communities and wellness practitioners to take part and make wellness activities more accessible to the public.
Jakarta’s Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Office is also supporting the event. From 18–20 September, the National Monument (Monas) will be lit in blue as a symbol of Jakarta’s participation in the global wellness movement.
First launched in 2017, World Wellness Weekend brings together people and organisations from the health, fitness, hospitality, spa, beauty, tourism and community sectors. It promotes a balanced approach to well-being through five pillars: Sleep & Creativity, Nutrition & Immunity, Movement & Vitality, Mindfulness & Serenity, and Purpose & Solidarity.

“Jakarta’s achievement last year demonstrated the strong enthusiasm among the community and wellness stakeholders in Jakarta to move forward together. This year, we hope to build on that momentum by making more activities accessible to the public and encouraging greater participation from various sectors,” said Wulan.
She also believes that wellness does not have to be complicated. Staying active, eating well, getting enough rest, making time for yourself and supporting others can all be part of a healthier lifestyle.
Martha Tilaar SPA will present a series of activities during the weekend, including a Wellness Talk on Lymphatic Massage, Meditation with Bali Usada, Wellness Movement and Give Blood, Give Life.
The programme will also include activities that connect wellness with the wider community, such as a Clean-Up Movement during Car Free Day, the From Us For Us Bazaar, and free health checks in collaboration with JHC Hospital.
Beyond Martha Tilaar SPA, other wellness communities and practitioners in Jakarta will also organise activities as part of the weekend. With the theme “Wellness for All,” World Wellness Weekend 2026 encourages everyone to look after their own well-being while creating healthier and more supportive communities.
For Jakarta, wellness is not only about spa treatments or exercise. It is also about making healthier choices, connecting with others and taking small steps towards a better quality of life.
