Continuing Kura Kura Beer’s devotion to craft brewing with local ingredients and celebrating local art, Kura Kura Beer has kicked off their limited edition ‘Coffee Stout Beer’ as part of their quarterly Single Batch Series.
This new programme, the Single Batch Series, allows the local craft beer company to get creative – not only in its aesthetics but with flavours too. Each limited edition product features a collaboration with an artist to create a visually captivating can, centred around a fun and tasty new flavour profile.
The first of the series is their ‘Coffee Stout Beer’. Kura Kura’s Brewmaster, Gary, had this to say about this new coffee-flavoured beer: “Kura Kura’s Coffee Stout is a unique and complex drink that is a medley of silky toasted oats and nutty, dark roasted malts —topped with organic coffee beans for a rich and smooth character.”
Collaborating with Bali-based, American abstract artist and calligraphy pioneer, Rostarr, the new Coffee Stout Beer welcomes all-new ‘Can Art’, with an intricate design inspired by the drink itself. Rostarr, used ‘Coffee Stout’ to create a colour scheme for the cans, picking 6 tones ranging from dark coffee beans to milky coffee to line new shapes and characters; making the art on the can just as unique as the flavour inside.
Founded in 2020 by a father-son duo, Putu and Kadek Wiranatha, Kura-Kura has cemented itself as the pioneer of Indonesian canned beer, as well as popularising the slow-sipping philosophy and well-crafted designed cans.
Through this program, the company hopes that consumers’ curiosity surrounding craft beer and its brewing process will increase, and help to support Indonesia’s expanding community of craft beer enthusiasts in the long run. By launching these single-batch series that focus on honouring the real craft beer, Kura Kura aims to further the journey of changing Indonesia’s beer scene, one sip at a time.
