PT Nestlé Indonesia officially handed over a TransJakarta tourism bus unit to PT Transportasi Jakarta (TransJakarta) last week, in line with the commitment to continuously improve the quality of public transportation services.

President Director of PT Nestlé Indonesia Dharnesh Gordhon officially presented the double-decker bus to the President Director of TransJakarta Budi Kaliwono. The ceremony was witnessed by then-Governor of DKI Jakarta Djarot Saiful Hidayat at the city’s Town Hall.

“We understand that public transportation services play an important role in improving people's quality of life. We hope that this double-decker bus can be a convenient and safe transportation option for Jakartans, so they can freely travel around the city with their families,” Gordhon said.

One double-decker bus can seat 76 passengers and is equipped with facilities for people with disabilities. The green-coloured bus will be used for the community to explore various historical places in Jakarta by using public transportation.

The MAN branded bus from Germany is equipped with specifications that ensure the safety and comfort of passengers such as GPS, safety alarm and CCTV. In addition, the common rail system and body frame of aluminium owned by the fleet also allows a more efficient fuel consumption.

Djarot Saiful Hidayat expressed his appreciation of Nestlé Indonesia’s contribution to improve city tourism in Jakarta. “This collaboration with Nestlé is one of the breakthroughs to encourage citizens to use public transportation," Hidayat said.

On the same occasion, Budi Kaliwono said, the handover shows that the private sector cares deeply about Jakarta, especially when it comes to the field of transportation.
