South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice together with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Indonesia has recently launched Korea Visa Application Center (KVAC) in Jakarta allowing easier access to Indonesians applying for Korean visas.

Thanks to the boom of Korean Wave in the recent years, a uniquely appealing culture and attractions, and great accessibility, Korea has seen a significant growth in the number of Indonesian citizens visiting South Korea over the recent years. Last year, 157,924 visas were issued by Indonesians traveling to Korea, giving it a rise of 15 per cent annually.

The opening of the Visa Application Center as of 2 May 2019 was formally hosted at the new operating counter at the Lotte Shopping Avenue, Level 5. The new centre will make it faster and easier than ever before to obtain a visa to Korea thanks to a comfortable process and excellent assistance from visa services. Unless for specific issuance or other requirements such as diplomatic visa (A-1), Foreign Government Official (A-2) and incentive group tour, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Indonesia will no longer serve visa applications starting 2 May.
