Through their seasonal Ramadan theme, A Cup of Kindness, Starbucks introduces a drive-thru sticker programme, Wheel of Kindness, leading up to Indonesia’s ‘mudik’ (homecoming) tradition.

The ‘A Cup of Kindness’ campaign has welcomed numerous programmes specially released during Ramadan, including a bespoke Ramadan cup design, Instagram filter Bedug Kebaikan which offers various promotions, an Iftar of the Week programme which takes place everyday at 3pm, the ‘Say It with Starbucks’ Ramadan gift box, Starbucks Drive-Thru Mudik Map to accompany all customers during their travels home, and now the Drive-Thru sticker programme, Wheel of Kindness.

Starting 25 March, customers who drive or make transactions at Starbucks Drive-Thru stores can get one sticker for the Starbucks Drive Thru program, Wheel of Kindness, for free. And if customers make beverage and/or food purchases via any Starbucks Drive-Thru route in Indonesia up to a total of IDR150,000 they are entitled to receive one collectible Bearista edition fridge magnet for free, while supplies last.

In the spirit of Ramadan, Starbucks launched A Cup of Kindness with one of its new programs, Wheel of Kindness aimed to spread joy, kindness, and unity. It’s the very first program launched throughout the month of Ramadan onwards to welcome all the Indonesian customers and accompany them during the Mudik period.

“Ramadan has always been the perfect time for people to reconnect with their roots, strengthen social ties, and celebrate the blessings together. When Ramadan and Mudik comes, people have many ways to get through it, to reunite with their loved ones, and Starbucks Drive-Thru is always part of all these stories. With the theme, all Starbucks stores, especially the dire-thru ones, will be ready to welcome all the customers and accompany them along the way with some excitement and programs.” says Liryawati, chief marketing officer of PT Sari Coffee Indonesia, the official licensee of Starbucks brand in Indonesia.

In 2005, Starbucks in Indonesia opened its first drive-thru store at KM 19 Cikampek and it is also the first drive-thru store for Starbucks in the Southeast Asia region. Since then, Starbucks’ drive-thru stores have grown and spread across 24 cities from Medan, Jakarta to Manado. As of March 2024, Starbucks already has 73 drive-thru stores both in Rest Area locations and in other locations that can be easily accessed throughout Indonesia, which are ready to provide the Starbucks Experience to customers.
