October has something new brewing at The Lounge, InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah, and this one comes with a world champion behind the coffee bar. Georgius Audrey Teja, better known as Odi, the 2025 World Coffee in Good Spirits Champion, is joining forces with Omakafé for The Champion’s Brew, a three-course coffee omakase running throughout the month.

Coffee omakase may not be an everyday order, which is precisely what makes this collaboration worth a try. Audrey has created the menu exclusively for The Lounge, with three non-alcoholic courses that play with Indonesian ingredients and tastes. Guests only discover each course as it is served, keeping the menu part of the fun.

The first pour looks like it belongs on a cocktail menu, but there is no alcohol in sight. Audrey uses an Indonesian root more commonly found in perfumery to make a syrup, then mixes it with citrus and coffee for a Coffee Highball, with coffee taking the place of the usual soda. Klepon inspires the second course, where pandan, coconut and dark palm sweetness come through in a completely clear drink. The presentation may be unexpected, but the flavours keep its Indonesian character recognisable.

For the final course, the menu gets warm and comforting with a coffee interpretation of Wedang. Hot espresso, pandan and ginger are topped with cool coconut cream and finished with nutmeg. The coffee and spices make for a simple, comforting finish to the three-course menu.

The collaboration follows Omakafé’s philosophy of carrying Indonesian heritage wherever it travels, and Audrey has plenty of experience to draw from. Alongside his work with Omakafé’s beverage experience team, he is a Research and Development Specialist at So So Good Coffee Company, where creativity, sustainability and storytelling are part of his work.

Audrey sees the three courses as more than a showcase of coffee technique; they are his way of revisiting Indonesian flavours through a different lens. “I believe coffee has a profound ability to communicate ideas, emotions and narratives,” he said. “Every course here starts from something Indonesians already know, a root, a sweet, a warm drink from home, and asks them to meet it again for the first time.”

The menu will be served at The Lounge, the hotel’s lobby-level space beneath its chandelier, throughout October. Audrey will also be there on Thursday, 1 October 2026, from 2:00PM to open the collaboration and meet guests, making the launch an opportunity to try the menu with its creator.

The Champion’s Brew runs from 1 to 31 October 2026. To reserve a spot, contact the hotel’s reservation team at +62 21 3950 7355 or reservation.icjakarta@ihg.com.
