A brand new library has opened in Depok, part of the International Islamic University of Indonesia (UIII). The Jusuf Kalla Library has been designed to cater to the needs of today’s generation, expanding beyond a destination for literature and reading, encompassing spaces for creativity, collaboration and networking.
Named after former Vice President of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla, the library pays tribute to the national figure’s contributions to education and youth development. The impressive building presents a futuristic exterior, with a clean and contemporary interior aesthetic. Open for the public, the library is fitted with modern learning facilities and dynamic spaces for interaction — not to mention a book collection that numbers the thousands in literature and reference reading material.

The Jusuf Kalla Library encompasses numerous different spaces. The Co-Working area offers spacious tables equipped with electrical outlets at every corner, making it ideal for group projects, assignments or brainstorming sessions with friends. For more focused interactions, Discussion Rooms are available, perfectly suited for meetings, group discussions, workshops and seminars. A Reading and Relaxation Zone provides a tranquil ambience with comfortable seating and natural lights, creating the perfect spot for reading, studying, or simply unwinding during free time. The library is fully equipped with high-speed WiFi, research computers, e-books and e-resources, and digital lending services. A standout feature is the Art and Creativity Corner, designed to nurture creativity and self-expression.
Jusuf Kalla Library is open to the public and has operational times Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 9 pm. Visitors are required to register upon arrival at the lobby and pay a nominal entrance fee of IDR 10,000, –
