Tonton Ramen Bar, a concept by KAWANO Group, has opened in Jakarta, introducing the authentic flavours of Kumamoto ramen through a refined dining experience centred on just two signature bowls that capture the essence of the brand.

Following its successful debut in Bali, the restaurant arrives at Midplaza Sudirman with an intimate, contemporary setting designed to showcase the rich heritage of Kumamoto ramen. Staying true to Japanese culinary traditions, Tonton prepares its signature tonkotsu broth in a traditional hagama (large iron pot), simmering it for up to 36 hours to create a creamy, full-bodied broth with remarkable depth. Each bowl is finished with Kogashi Ninniku—fried black garlic that lends a distinctive smoky aroma and rich umami flavour.

The menu is led by the Original Tonkotsu Tamana Ramen, inspired by the authentic recipe from Tamana, the birthplace of Kumamoto ramen. It features rich pork broth paired with paper-thin slices of char-grilled pork chashu, delivering a buttery, melt-in-the-mouth texture and subtle smokiness.

Completing the menu is the Original Tori Paitan Ramen, an exclusive creation inspired by Bali, where Tonton Ramen Bar first launched. Combining creamy chicken broth with fragrant Balinese sambal matah and fresh lemon, it offers a vibrant fusion of Japanese comfort food and Indonesian flavours, adding brightness and texture while remaining rooted in Japanese craftsmanship.

With its signature menu and preparation, Tonton Ramen Bar offers Jakarta diners an authentic taste of Kumamoto ramen, where traditional techniques and contemporary dining come together in every bowl.
