Guinness has officially expanded its footprint in Indonesia with the launch of Guinness Imported Draught, the stout recognised globally for its smooth, creamy texture and its familiar notes of coffee, chocolate and gentle roast. Brewed using barley roasted at 232°C, it carries the signature flavour profile that has defined Guinness for decades and continues to attract loyal drinkers around the world.

Rajesh Joshi, General Manager of Diageo Indonesia, shared that this launch connects Guinness’ long history with Indonesia’s own lively, community-driven culture. He noted that Guinness’ consistent global growth strengthens its position as the world’s leading stout and that bringing Guinness Imported Draught to Indonesia brings a piece of its 250-year legacy to local celebrations, whether small gatherings or larger moments with friends and family.

Central to the experience is the two-part pour, a method unique to Guinness Imported Draught. A 45-degree pour allows the stout to cascade and build a soft, velvety foam before the glass is topped up. Observed closely, the beer reveals a deep ruby tint beneath its creamy head, a detail often missed unless viewed under the right light.

The drink also arrives with well-known traditions created by Guinness fans worldwide. Custom foam art via the Stoutie machine, along with light-hearted foam-tilting challenges, add a playful edge to enjoying the stout and bring international rituals into Indonesian bars and homes.

Guinness Imported Draught is available both on tap and in cans, allowing consumers to enjoy the same creamy texture anywhere. The canned version includes the nitrogen widget ball, a breakthrough introduced in the 1980s that creates the smooth pour associated with Guinness even without a tap system, offering consistency from bar to home.

The brand is also deepening its partnerships with venues across the country. Through the Guinness Microdraught system, licensed partners (from large bars to small community venues) can serve Guinness Imported Draught with high precision. The system uses air pressure instead of nitrogen cylinders, making it easier to deliver the taste Guinness fans expect. Since its introduction in 2021, Microdraught has reached over 12,000 bars and restaurants across 150 countries.

Naomi Noviyanti Malau, Brand Manager of Guinness Indonesia, explained that consumers are placing greater importance on drink quality. With that shift, Guinness Imported Draught is being introduced in 15 cities to broaden consumer choice, support venue partners and grow the premium beer category. More than 1,000 bars, restaurants and supermarkets in Indonesia already carry the new stout, and the number is set to increase.

The launch completes Guinness’ portfolio in Indonesia, joining Guinness Foreign Extra Stout and Guinness Smooth. Together, the three variants offer diverse flavour profiles suited to different preferences while staying true to Guinness’ aim of creating memorable shared experiences.

With Guinness Imported Draught now available, Indonesia becomes part of the brand’s wider global tradition of craftsmanship and camaraderie.
