Artotel Group is introducing plant-based dining into the daily menus of some of its hotels with the launch of “Rebellious Hunger”, a new sustainability-driven initiative under Artotel Dine. Rolled out nationwide in April 2026, the programme introduces plant-based dishes across participating Artotel properties in Indonesia, to make responsible and nature-focused dining a regular part of the guest experience.

This initiative reflects a shift in how people now want to eat, travel and choose hospitality brands. Diners today are more aware of where ingredients come from, how menus are built and how food choices relate to wider environmental impact. For hotels, this makes sustainability an essential operational decision.

Artotel Dine is starting with a practical step by integrating plant-based selections into its culinary operations. These dishes will appear not only as standalone menu items, but also as part of regular buffet offerings. The aim is to make plant-based dining accessible to a wider market, including guests who may not usually seek it out.

To develop the programme, Artotel Group is collaborating with Burgreens and Green Rebel, two names closely associated with Indonesia’s plant-based dining movement. Burgreens will support the creation of plant-based concepts that feel approachable and commercially relevant, while Green Rebel will act as the primary supplier of plant-based ingredients, helping maintain consistency, availability and supply-chain transparency.

The title “Rebellious Hunger” shows sustainable eating as something active and contemporary, the point is not to remove pleasure from dining, but to show how different ingredients and sourcing choices can still sit comfortably within a hotel restaurant, buffet or café setting.

Eduard Rudolf Pangkerego, Chief Operating Officer of Artotel Group, said the collaboration reflects a longer-term change in how the group approaches dining across its properties. “This collaboration is a structural shift in how dining is approached across Artotel properties, as it serves as a foundation for broader sustainability targets within Artotel Group’s ESG framework.”

For Artotel Group, the launch strengthens Artotel Dine’s role within the group’s wider ESG direction, linking menu development, ingredient sourcing and guest expectations with clearer purpose. As “Rebellious Hunger” expands across its properties, guests are invited to experience sustainable dining as part of everyday hospitality.
