ASCOTT properties in Bali, including 11 hotels and Serviced Apartments – Citadines, Préférence Hotels, HARRIS Hotels, FOX HARRIS Hotels, YELLO Hotels, POP! Hotels and Beachwalk Residence –  held a massive beach cleaning event on the popular tourist stretch of Kuta Beach, under the initiative of “Say No To Plastic”. Held on 19 February 2023, this project was a collaboration with local organisation, One Island One Voice, an initiative that aims to bring communities together in Bali’s largest clean-up project, assembling and inspiring generations to care and increase awareness for coastal and marine ecosystems around Bali.

Officially called “Bali’s Biggest Clean Up” by One Island One Voice, this movement has brought more than 70,000 people to 560 locations in Bali and prevented 203 tons of non-organic waste from entering the ocean in the six years this event has been active.

Part of ASCOTT Regional Bali CSR & Activation Program’s goal is to take part in preserving the environment of Bali by maintaining the harmonious relationship between ASCOTT members, local schools and the village community. Mr. Nyoman Wirasaya, the Cluster General Manager of ASCOTT Bali Region also took part as the committee advisor to this program, where he believes that Bali’s Biggest Clean-Up can increase awareness and remind the community how crucial it is to protect the ecosystem around tourist areas and that it is also the intention behind ASCOTT Regional Bali to participate or create events that facilitate the protection and preservation of the environment.

Aligned with ‘Ascott Cares’, this event proves the commitment of ASCOTT Bali Region in extending their culture of care and hospitality to the people and environments that they strive to deliver through a sustainability programme, centring around five fundamental pillars of Community, Alliance, Respect, Environment and Supply chain.
