In commemoration of Kartini Day, Ashley Hotel Group presented ‘Day Without Women’ with 70 female employees from all hotel units and head offices. All participants were given the opportunity to pause their routine hotel operations and gather in one space, while all hotel operations were taken over by male employees throughout the day.

This initiative symbolises appreciation for the role of women in the company’s operations and growth, as well as present-day support for Kartini’s spirit of emancipation. In an energised atmosphere, the event was enlivened with activities like seminars by Vivi Erfianne, a Clinical Psychologist, who discussed how women can grow and balance their roles in the world of work and family, and Dr. Gita (Obgyn Doctor), who provided insights on the importance of hormone health and stress management for working women.

The highlight of the event was a fashion show of traditional Indonesian women’s clothing, where participants appeared confidently wearing traditional clothing from various regions, as a form of cultural preservation and pride in the identity of Indonesian women.

Mrs. Ade Noerwenda, Director of Operations at Ashley Hotel Group, declared on the day that they not only provide a space for appreciation, but also a voice that proclaims the existence of women as an important force that should be celebrated every day, not just in symbolic moments.

“What’s more, more than 80% of our team is from Generation Z-a generation that cares deeply about mental health, life balance, and meaning in their work. Therefore, we want to create a safe, supportive and inspiring space where every woman feels valued and empowered,” stated Mrs. Noerwenda.

As such, Ashley Hotel Group remains committed to creating a work environment that supports the growth of great women in the professional world, without forgetting cultural values, life balance, and mental health as the foundation of mutual success.
