As part of a collaboration between Amuz and Michelin-starred Chef Olivier Oddos, a cooking class with the theme of “French Cuisine with Japanese Inspiration” was held on 9 February , 2018 at Modena Experience Center, Jakarta, in collaboration with Modena Indonesia, a leading home electronic appliances company.

Through hands-on training, participants got to absorb the amazing set of skills showcased by both Chef Olivier Oddos and founder of Amuz Gourmet, Chef Gilles Marx.

Among their creations were the incredible dessert Vanilla Crème Brûlée, Hibiscus Macerated Exotic Fruits and Pistachio Sables and Red Berries Sorbet. The mouth-watering items served as a sweet opening to the event, and right away captivated all participants as they learned to create plated desserts with a pleasing palette and up to world-class standards.

Chef Olivier Oddos, who has been spent 18 years of his career in Japan, showcased his mastery of both French and Japanese cooking methods through Hokkaido Scallops Sushi and Crab Meat Yuzu Lime, Cider Vinegar Juice and Chioggia Beet – the kind of food that combines the elegant, refined flavours of French cuisine with the simplicity of Japanese cooking method, aided with fresh ingredients. Collaboration between the two chefs also led to main course menus such as Steamed Barramundi Back, Squid Ink Risotto and Aragula-Ginger Emulsions.
