On Wednesday, 31 January 2024, Amuz Gourmet Jakarta will host Le Diner d’Epicure, seeing the intriguing pairing of Chinese and French cuisines. Guests to this annual dinner are set for a surprising dining experience featuring five celebrated chefs.

‘Le Diner d’Epicure’ is the annual tradition of Disciples Escoffier, a global association of chefs founded in 1954, dedicated to upholding the values of legendary French Chef, August Escoffier. There are 30,000 members across 47 countries, all of whom promote the art of cooking and dining in their respective regions. From young chef competitions to charitable dining events, the association has been important in elevating culinary skills across the world.

On 31 January 2024, Disciples Escoffier Indonesia thus presents this year’s Diner d’Epicure, inviting dining enthusiasts to engage in the culture and creations of the local chapter.

Held at Amuz Gourmet Jakarta, the gala dinner consists of a one-of-a-kind five-course menu paired with premium wines, showcasing the unique pairing of Chinese and French cuisine presented by five chefs. A generous portion of the proceeds will be donated to Yayasan Komunitas Ambiente, a community-in-need in Agats, Papua, in the spirit of the association’s charitable commitments.

The evening starts with a cocktail at ARTOZ Whisky Bar, before the five-course dinner commences at 6.30pm at AMUZ Gourmet.

The Chefs

Chef Yvonne Yuen hails from Shanghai and began her cooking journey from a young age, learning traditional Chinese recipes from her grandmother. With experience in Hong Kong as well, she brings a truly authentic flavour to her private dining experience here in Jakarta.

Chef Patrese Vito has cut his teeth at some truly impressive restaurants, starting under the tutelage of Chef Mandif Warokka at Teatro Gastroteque and BLANCO par Mandif in Bali; moving abroad to work under Chef Joel Robuchon at Three Michelin Starred Restaurant, Robuchon au Dôme, Macau. He estalblished BOTANICA at Ashta District 8 with the Vin+ Group and is now the Chef Patron of MARKT. 

Executive Chef Stefu Santoso of Aprez Catering is a renowned Indonesian Chef and TV personality. In his career rose through the ranks quickly, becoming Executive Chef at The Parklane Hotel Jakarta by age 33! He is known for his active involvement in the Association of Culinary Professionals Indonesia and the development of AMUZ Gourmet’s Aprez Catering. 

Chef Fransisa Tamba, or Chef Chika, has worked in the kitchens of many five-star hotel brands, from ALILA, Grand Hyatt, Mulia Jakarta to the Burj-Al Arab in Dubai. She is decorated and award-winning pastry chef and has been held in high esteem as the Pastry Chef of Amuz Gourmet since 2011.

Chef Gilles Marx, Founder of Amuz Gourmet, is a culinary bridge. Growing up in Alsace, in the French countryside, his early experience with farm-sourced ingredients has made him masterful in his ability to create truly exquisite haute cuisine. His experiences in Michellin-starred kitchens across Alsace, Lyon, Burgundy and Paris culminate in Amuz Gourmet today.
