This April, 25hours Hotel Jakarta The Oddbird flips the script on how art is shown. Turning its 10th floor into a corridor of galleries, the hotel debuts Room Art Fair 2026, timed with World Art Day.

For four days, from 16–19 April, hotel rooms shed their everyday function, becoming portals into different artistic worlds. Each door opens to a different gallery or artist, inviting visitors to wander freely, step inside, and experience works at close range. Visitors may simply walk in and discover art at eye level.

The fair is staged with the Indonesian Art Galleries Association (AGSI) and brings together 13 galleries from across the country. The atmosphere is intentionally relaxed: artists, collectors, and guests mingle in spaces that feel more like conversations than exhibitions. With the support of Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), the initiative also ties into the Ministry of Tourism’s vision of blending art, hospitality, and travel in ways that feel current.

The journey begins downstairs with Meet Me in the Lobby, curated by Zarani Risjad, where selected works greet guests in a casual setting. From there, the path leads upstairs, where each room — whether styled urban or garden — adds its own context to the art inside.

“This is about making art part of everyday life, closer to how people move through the city,” said Wibi Hananto, Assistant Director of Marketing Communications. The idea is echoed by AGSI, underscoring the fair’s commitment to accessibility and relevance in Jakarta’s evolving art scene. “It’s a step toward accessibility, showing art in formats that match how people interact today,” added Maya Sujatmiko of AGSI.

Rather than presenting a static display, the event highlights the dynamic interplay between creativity and environment. Each room becomes a site of encounter, where visitors can step directly into artistic narratives without the distance of formal barriers. This approach aligns with the broader World Art Day programme at 25hours Hotel Jakarta The Oddbird, designed to spark dialogue, encourage exploration, and inject fresh energy into the city’s creative ecosystem.
