At NAS Jakarta, celebrating International Week brought to life its commitment to nurturing global citizens. Opening the event was Mr. Matthew Downing, the UK’s Deputy Ambassador to Indonesia, who was joined by long-standing students – Amelie van Hee, Kabir Aggarwal and Sofia Asmara – to cut the official ribbon.
As 86% of the student body comprises of expatriates, and Indonesia represents its largest and fastest-growing national group, it was only fitting that NAS Jakarta’s Indonesian students led the Parade of Nations on Friday, which marked UN Day. With flags held high, they marched ahead of representatives from 29 other countries, joined by several nations represented by the staff. Also honouring the occasion was an International Food Fair that brought the flavours of the world to the campus.

Over the course of the week, the students engaged in a tapestry of parent led activities designed to deepen their understanding of the school community’s diverse cultures. This signified how the school provides its students with prime opportunities to foster respect for others and to embrace the highly valued spirit of global citizenship.
Through a range of creative and interactive sessions, they developed their curiosity, collaboration and resilience: key values for learning at NAS Jakarta.
