Running from 12 June to 30 August this year, Taman Safari Indonesia (TSI) holds the 34th edition of International Animal Photo & Video Competition (IAPVC) under the theme “The Picture of Nature’s Secret”, reinforcing the past 3 decades of advocating conservation through visual storytelling.
With 4 international certifications and over 20 national awards, Taman Safari remains an Indonesian symbol of commitment to conservation and education, while IAPVC has grown into a global competition since 1991, welcoming more than 8,000 participants and receiving over 23,000 entries in 2024.
In 2025, IAPVC has invited professional photographers and journalists, photography enthusiasts, social media content creators and creative communities. The launch concluded with a performance of the LILA Show, an iconic Enchanting Valley presentation that embodies the spirit of conservation advocacy. TSI will also hold an IAPVC Roadshow across its three major parks in Solo, Bogor and Prigen.
Moreover, IAPVC 2025 has introduced a video category to embrace current trends and encourage broader creative participation. “With over 4.9 billion social media users worldwide, visual content is 40% more effective in conveying messages. IAPVC has the potential to bridge creative expression with environmental consciousness in a relevant and impactful way,” stated Hans Manansang, Director of Commercial & Business Taman Safari Indonesia.
Rizki Handayani, Deputy of Industry and Investment at the Ministry of Tourism, emphasised that conservation cannot be accomplished in isolation, with competitions like IAPVC serving as important platforms to foster public participation through cross-sector creative approaches, and being a valuable contribution to Indonesia’s creative economy. He remarked, “This competition proves that visual works are not only artistically valuable but also carry significant economic potential and social impact.”
Through initiatives such as IAPVC, Taman Safari Indonesia continues to affirm its commitment to and global leadership in conservation, uniting creativity and advocacy to protect endangered wildlife.
