Jakarta’s Car-Free Day turned pink on 12 July as 700 participants gathered in Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD) for the second edition of The Langham Pink Run. The five-kilometre charity run raised awareness for breast cancer while encouraging participants to spend an active Sunday morning together. Following the run, participants returned to The Langham, Jakarta, where the programme continued with wellness activities, including a Dance Icon Cardio session led by fitness personalities Erick Limans and Frans from Paradigm Fitness.
Partnering with Love Pink Indonesia, The Langham Pink Run placed breast cancer awareness at the heart of the event. The non-profit organisation continues to champion education and early detection, with the run helping encourage conversations around regular screenings and preventive care.
The Jakarta edition was one stop in The Langham Hotels & Resorts’ global Pink Run series, which is held annually in cities including Boston, Melbourne, Sydney, Chicago, Bangkok, London, Shanghai, Hong Kong and New York. While each event supports different local initiatives, they all share the same commitment to wellness and community engagement.
Participants also received a finisher medal with an environmental message of its own. Designed in collaboration with Sungai Design, the creative initiative of environmental organisation Sungai Watch, the medal was crafted from recycled river plastic collected in Indonesia. The keepsake reflected the event’s commitment to environmental responsibility while demonstrating how discarded materials can be transformed into something meaningful.
