August puts familiar Indonesian flavours back on the table, with a little more reason to gather around them. Fairmont Jakarta is celebrating Independence Month with special menus at Spectrum and 1945 Restaurant, from a festive buffet and individual tumpeng to a month-long rijsttafel and cocktails inspired by well-known Indonesian sweets.
At Spectrum Restaurant, the Independence Month buffet runs for lunch and dinner from 15 to 17 August 2026, priced at IDR 568,000++ per person. It is an easy one for families and groups to make a meal of, especially with three days to choose from instead of squeezing everyone around the table on 17 August.
On Independence Day, the restaurant will also hold a tumpeng cutting ceremony. Guests who turn up in batik or Indonesia’s red-and-white colours receive 17 per cent off the buffet, which makes getting dressed for lunch unusually rewarding!

The celebration becomes more composed at 1945 Restaurant, where Indonesian dishes are given the restaurant’s contemporary treatment throughout August.
On 17 August, the familiar tumpeng is scaled down to an individual serving, without losing the parts people tend to look for first. Nasi Kuning comes with Ayam Goreng, Telur Balado, Tempe Orek, Sambal Kentang and Mie Goreng, putting the flavours of a communal Independence Day table onto one plate.
For diners who prefer to share, Merdeka Rijsttafel-inspired is available from 1 to 31 August 2026 at IDR 500,000++ for two people. The menu moves through Smoked Beef Perkedel, Tahu Telur Crispy, Chicken Roulade, Semur Beef Cheek and Jantung Pisang Gecok, before finishing with the restaurant’s interpretation of Spekkoek.
There is plenty of familiarity in the line-up, though the presentation gives them a fresh turn. The meal begins with Sangsaka, a welcome drink combining eternal summer tea, strawberry, passion fruit, vanilla and salted liquid cream. The nostalgia continues at the bar, this time in cocktail form. Fairmont Jakarta’s Indonesian Heritage Cocktail Collection, available throughout August at IDR 120,000++ per glass, takes its cues from Dodol, Klepon, Wajik and Getuk. These familiar sweets are reworked as drinks to give the menu a playful Indonesian note without leaning too heavily on sentiment.

There are a few ways to join the celebration, depending on your appetite. Choose the tumpeng on 17 August, share the rijsttafel during the month, or drop in for one of the heritage-inspired cocktails!
